Quite a mix Looking at Mia's family tree, two pictures come to my mind: a carrot and the roots of a mushroom. The carrot stands for Mia's maternal family origin: No matter how far I go back in the family history, all relatives along the line seem to were born, have lived and died in a diameter of 30 km to where Mia was born (Bozen). The mushroom stands for Mia's paternal family origin: there are great grandparents in Scotland, a great great grandmother in Mauritius, a great grandfather in China, a great grandmother in Malaysia, just to name some. What brings them together is the fact that they (or their offspring) sooner or later all emigrated to Australia where they mixed up. Mia's Australian family is really like the root of a mushroom; and as soon as you think that now you know all about the family, a new mushroom pops up in a place (or continent) you didn't expect at all ;)
No wonder Mia appeares to be a bit confused from time to time. Looking back at our stay in Australia I have to say that they are just the best family I can imagine for Mia, and observing Mia during our stay in Australia it seemed that she was sharing that opinion, happily chatting and flirting with each member of her paternal family.
